| By now everyone knows that Actor/Comedian Drew Carey has been named to replace Bob Barker as the new host of The Price is Right which will begin its 36th season on CBS this month. Whoop a dee doo. What about replacing the announcer? If we're gonna change things so drastically, why not rip the headphones and mic off of Rich Fields, drag him out of his announcer's booth kicking and screaming, and bring in some fresh blood to really get things going? I vote for King Leo. Hands down. He's got everything you'd want in an announcer. |
| He is the complete package. Plus he'll keep Drew in line when the dude thinks he's funny and he's really not. Which is most of the time. But I digress... Drew has said that he will honor Bob Barker's work for controlling the pet population by continuing the tradition of making the "spay or neuter" mention at the end of the show. But let me ask you this. Who would garner more results in this department? An impromptu comedian who can't "impromptu" to save his life? Or King Leo? You can be sure people will be running to the vet to have their furkids snipped faster than you can say "A NEW CAR!!" |
| Which brings me to my next point. Why not just let the guy multitask and be both announcer and host? As the leader of a Spartan army, he has plenty of experience in this venue so why not? WHY NOT? For example, The Big Wheel. Wouldn't it be awesome to see King Leo help out in between announcements by spinning the wheel for the losers who can't even make the wheel spin halfway? Or help some old chick haul ass back and forth with her price tags in the Race Game? All in all he would be a valuable addition to the cast of this show. Plus it would definitely be fun to hear him shout out: |
| Honestly, who is better suited than Leo to help contestants make it through the showcase showdown? Especially the morons who bid $2.00 when the other contestant bid $3.00 and their $2.00 bid applies to a showcase containing a yacht, a new car, and a cruise? |
| "I couldn't be more excited," said Carey. "I realize what a big responsibility this is. It's the longest-running game show in American television and I plan to keep it that way."
Then by all means, do your best Bob Barker impression Mr. Carey because that's as good as it's going to get without Leo running the show. |
